We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter yesterday! We sure did! The oldest two talked us in to coloring Easter eggs this year. I guess we have skipped doing it for a couple of years and they gave us the sob story about how the youngest 4 won't have any memories of doing it and how much fun they are missing out on......About 10 minutes in to dying eggs, I gave them "the look". The arguing, fussing, complaining was in full force and it was really more fun than I cared to have. The oldest two quickly remembered why we had stopped doing it. No one seemed to be having fun!
When asked, they all insisted they loved coloring eggs......despite all the noise they created. Ha ha, it's all about making memories, right???

Having a blast!!

Oh, yeah we're having sooooo much fun!!

The oldest two decided this year that they were too old to look for eggs. But I have to be honest, I got quite a kick out of Levi. He insisted going outside, with a basket to look for the eggs that he had colored!!!

And then back inside for egg wars!

Vanessa ended up with the Champion egg! Not a crack on it! Does anyone else do this? Just wondering if anyone else out there has any fun traditions with the eggs.

Here are a few of our dinner plates, loaded and waiting for the prayer to be said! We like to keep our Easter dinner simple, with foods that might have been eaten by the people who lived when Christ was on the earth. We had 4 different types of dried fruits, olives, hummus, flat bread, cucumbers, almonds and smoked salmon. Some things were a big hit......others were not.

Diving in to their Easter feast!
We decided as a family to stop doing Easter baskets. For the life of us, we couldn't figure out how chocolate bunnies and jelly beans had anything to do with Christ. Our Easter is so much more reverent and it has really helped the kids remember what this special day is really about.
We hadn't planned anything for dessert, so after the kitchen was clean, Levi whipped up some cupcakes from scratch. He frosted them and dipped them in coconut! Mmmmm.
We hope you had a wonderful day with those you love.

Love it...Mrs. P brought back the coloring egg thing to our family. Just a big mess that I didn't have to deal with. The kids had a great time and I came back to a clean house.
Doyle had the idea of hiding Easter Balls....we have colored balls the kids use on the trampoline and they are always scattered in the garage. The older girls had fun hiding more and low and behold the younger kids found a ton others also.
Yep NO chocolate Easter Bunnies here. I do love your Easter Feast though. We had "Clean out the fridge" Easter Dinner. Sean was not amused.
Sorry for the long comment...Doyles gone I really shoud go to bed.
We didn't dye eggs (I wimped out on the mess) but we had our traditional chocolate egg hunt on Saturday. We usually do Easter Bunny stuff on Saturday, and then focus on the real meaning of Easter on Sunday. That's when we have our Easter feast. I really liked yours, we may have to try that next year!
