Oh, The Stories They Would Tell......

This morning as I was putting away Isaiah's boots, I stopped for a moment and really looked at them.  They are full of adventures! They have been there, done that!!  He wears them to play basketball, ride his bike, chase goats, play tether ball, run through the irrigation, climb in the tree house...and just about anything else boys do!!!

That kid never has a boring day!  He is always full speed adventure!!!  He is always doing something!!!  In fact, some of you may remember a week or two ago when he filled the gas tank in our 15 passenger van with water!!!!  After we towed it to the dealer, we also discovered that the tank was full of rocks!!  I would love to hear his reasoning for those rocks in the tank.....but then again, we were just happy to pay them almost $1000.00 and drive our van home and call it "done". 

That boy is a joy to parent and no day is ever the same with him!!!  Keep having adventures, Isaiah!!!

Birthday Weekend!

This past weekend, we celebrated my grandmother's 93rd birthday.  As an added bonus, Samantha and sweet little Calvin made the trek to celebrate with us.  Colt had to work and wasn't able to make it so we missed seeing him this time around. 

We took lots of pictures and loved spending time together.

5 generations!  My grandmother became a grandma at the age of 42.  My mother became a grandmother at the age of 42.  I became a grandmother at the age of.......42!  Weird huh?

 



 Such a great time!  We sure love you, Grammy!!!

 

We had a couple of kids that hadn't seen Zachary's headstone yet, so we stopped by the cemetery on the way to church!

Hallelujah!!!!

We have been waiting so anxiously for Zachary's headstone to be completed and placed at his grave site  We were originally told it would probably be this Spring before it was installed, due to the weather.  After waiting forever, we decided to contact them and see what the deal was.   There was a mix up at the funeral home way back in November and it turns out they never actually placed the order.  They apologized profusely and got it ordered.

It's in.  It looks great.  I feel so much peace just seeing it there....I'm not really sure why, but I guess it's closure.  The other day when I went to the cemetery to see it for the first time, I had Tanner, Thomas, Isaiah and Jasmine with me.  Isaiah is still very concerned about when baby Zachary is going to come home.  He kept asking if we could take him out of the box.  He was hoping Jesus was going to be at the cemetery because he knows that baby Zachary is with Jesus........hard things for a 6 year old to understand.

Right next to Zachary's grave, they had a new hole dug and the canopy and chairs set up for another funeral.  While it broke my heart to know another family lost a child, I felt a peace knowing that Zachary is surrounded by children.  There is a very sacred spirit in that part of the cemetery. 

We miss you, sweet baby Zachary and we love you to the moon.......and back!!!

Life.

One thing I have learned is that life doesn't slow down so that I can blog.  I always think to myself, I totally need to blog about this.....and then life happens and that interesting little moment in life gets passed by.  Sigh.

So much has happened in the last few weeks/months.  First of all, my adorable grandbaby is 7 months old!!!!  His cute mama sent me this yesterday!!!  She's a lucky girl!!

He is the cutest lil' bug ever!!!!!  Those eyes!  That little button nose!!!  Love this little man!!!!  What a little doll!!!

Sabrina now lives in Arizona!!  That girl has a mind of her own...darn it.  She has wanted to go back there since we moved away!  She loves the blue sky and sunshine!  She gets that from me!  :)  She has a great job and lives with 3 other girls in a nice house in a beautiful sub-division!!  She just turned 19!  What????

Yeah, miss this girl already!  Who is going to pick up dead snakes we find in the yard??  Haha...

Levi finally went back to school yesterday after being off for 2 1/2 weeks!  His charter school has a really long spring break!  Lucky kid!!  But to be honest, I'm so glad he is back at school!  That kid can cook and I think I gained 5 lbs just having him home with me all day!!!  He loves creating recipes!  Here are a couple of his dishes.  I can't even remember what they were called exactly, but they are all made from scratch, with ingredients that he threw together!!!  Crazy good!!

Yeah, we're still working on the "let's not use every single pot, pan, dish, etc in mom's kitchen when we cook" philosophy.....



A couple weekends ago, we went to a Idaho Stampede basketball team.  They are owned by the Portland Trailblazers.  They are the D League team.  It was a lot of fun and we even took Papa and Grandma with us!!!  Thank you to Vanessa for earning the tickets from a school competition!!!

We worked in the yard a ton and have strong muscles and blisters to show for it!!!  We prepared an area on the side of our house for grass.  About 6500 sqft of new grass will be there shortly!!  We also  laid a couple thousand sqft of sod in the back yard not too mention, sunk the trampoline in the ground!!  Scott also just got done building a double teeter totter that holds up to 8 kids (4 on each)!!  Plus with Levi home, he moved rock and also put in new bark dust border around the whole house!! Been busy for sure!!

 This area is now completely all sod!!  The area in the middle is a patio for our picnic table!!  Love it!!!

 

We have such great help!!!  So excited to get that sod out!!! 

 



 I love this picture of Vanessa out working in the field!!!  Her hair is my favorite part of the picture!!!  She was so anxious to get out and start helping!!!  You go girl!!
