He's the Best!!!

There are so many reasons why I love my husband.....When I flew to Florida to pick up Jasmine, he potty trained Talisha, as he has the 6 children before her. Now she is ready to go to pre-school!

When we got home, there was the cutest sign on the front of the house: it was his idea.

He feeds the baby in the middle of the night. He does all the grocery shopping. He cooks all the meals on Sundays. He can do all phases of construction, even though he has a "real" job during the week. Needless to say, his "Honey-Do" list is never-ending but he doesn't mind a bit.

He changed his flight this past Monday morning to leave later in the day so I could get a few extra hours of sleep when I woke up feeling terrible with a cold.

He brings me flowers "just because". He takes me on a date every Friday night. He does the yard work and gets the kids to help him. He can still play a mean game of hoops. He coaches the boys football/basketball teams.

He jumps on the trampoline with the kids and is always willing to be "It" when there are 18 kids in the backyard, wanting to play tag!

But most importantly, he loves me. And I know it not just because he tells me, but because he shows me by the way he treats me.

I love you Scott.

Gaining weight never felt so good!!!

Well, not on me but for sweet baby Jasmine, it's wonderful news!!!! She's up a pound! She's now a 5 lb. sweetie pie! Can you believe it??? A pound??? Good, good news for us!!

It's pretty quiet around the blog these days, I'm sure you have noticed. We are so busy trying to keep everyone happy the week before school starts that there hasn't been much time for updates. Having a houseful of children that are very anxious to start school, tired of playing with each other and sharing a cold the past week makes for a tired mom.

All the school shopping is done. Now it's the week for haircuts. Sam is today. Sabrina is tomorrow and Vanessa is on Thursday. Boy I tell ya, next week the house will be so quiet with just four little ones home all day. What will I do with all my time????????

The Much Anticipated Haircut!

We did it!!!!!! First off, I have to say, I have never seen the look of fear in a stylist's face like I did when we walked in. That did nothing to ease my fears but we went ahead and got her seated in a chair. She insisted that Samantha hold her hand the entire time. This was her first haircut of her life, after all.

She kept her serious face on the whole time, never cracking a smile, never uttering a word. I'm pretty sure she will need therapy later in life for having her beautiful locks cut off at such a young age.

Once the stylist got going, she just didn't stop! I was starting to get worried, wondering if I should say something, like.......STOP! She cut, layered, thinned and cut some more. I think she kind of got into a trance and couldn't stop.

The haircut is growing on me and actually fits her personality. I know I'm going to get some flak when Scott walks in the door and sees her. He loved her long hair. But he never had to comb it.......

He'll get over it. She's had him wrapped around her finger since the day we brought her home!!!

I'm going to be in so much trouble when Scott sees her! To be honest, we all love her beautiful hair but the combing and brushing is just too much! She hates it and we all feel so terrible to make her sad, so we are on our way to have it cut! We're not sure what we will have them do.....hopefully they have some ideas on what will work best with her hair type!!!

Ok, just had to post a couple other pics of Isaiah. He has been the baby for the past 18 months. We have held, cuddled, oohed and aaahhhed over him his whole life. It's been hard to let him grow up. Now that baby Jasmine is here, he feels like a MOOSE!!! All 23 lbs. of him!! He is really on the petite side for his age, but when your holding a teeny, barely 4 pounder, it's amazing just how heavy 23 lbs. is!!!! He is the sweetest little boy.

Isaiah is hilarious!!!! He is personality plus!!! He LOVES the piano! He will sit and "play" forever! It's so cute to walk in the room and see him sitting up there like a big boy, playing away! Maybe he'll be famous some day!!!!!!

We have BIG, BIG News!!!

Well to be honest, it's itty, bitty, teeny, tiny news. About 3 lbs. 14 oz. of tiny news! Yes, it's true, we are bringing home a new baby........GIRL! She was born a week ago today in Miami, Florida. She is a preemie but doing very well. I will be flying to Florida on Sunday night (the "Red Eye" flight) to pick her up! Scott will stay home with all the kiddos so I'm taking my best friend, Bonnie (who is an amazing mom to 10 kids!!) for moral support.

The Air Show is in town!!!! We are big fans. It's always fun to hear the jets rumbling overhead and watch their acrobatic talents. We were so sad however, to see that there wasn't a big name coming into town this year. No roar of the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels above our heads.....serious bummer.

We headed over to the airport this morning for Kid's Day. All the planes were grounded and the kids got to see them up close. There were some pretty cool planes there, but not nearly the amount they have had in the past. The kids really enjoyed seeing the police motorcycles and the funny cars (drag racers). The driver was telling the kids how he can go 400 mph in 9 seconds! They thought that sounded pretty cool. Of course it peels the skin off you face in the process but it sounds like quite a rush.

I'm in soooo much trouble!!!!

Well, thanks to my best friend Bonnie, I was reminded that there actually is a store that sells babies...........Last March Bonnie and I went to a beautiful spa in Henderson (just outside of Vegas) for a much deserved vacation. It was a Valentine's Day gift from our husbands. We spent most of the time at the spa but one day we went and walked the strip. This was taken at FAO Schwarz toy store.

Sorry Thomas, I totally forgot about this crazy store. But you see, none of those babies had birthmarks..........
