Dinner!

Dinner tonight was so yummy!  Scott and I had tofu, coconut rice and steamed peppers with zuchini.  It was AMAZING!!!  The tofu was fried in grapeseed oil, the basmati rice was steamed in pure coconut milk and the veggies were lightly steamed in olive oil.

I seriously love Tofu!!!!  I can eat a whole package by myself if it's cooked like this.  But tonight I was polite and shared with Scott.

Homemade Almond Butter!!!

Made with almonds, flax, millet and grape seed oil!  Time to get serious on health.  More on that subject later!!

Nope, Not Yet!!

I was really looking forward to some down time after the wedding.  Boy, was I wrong.  I was even seriously considering trying Bon Bon's and watching Soap Opera's!  Haha, ok maybe that's just a little joke, but I was looking forward to a little less on my plate.

Silly me.

Life is moving on full steam ahead!!  Always something exciting going on over here!  Now if it would only cool off!  These 112+ degree days are starting to drive me batty!!

The Newlyweds are back home after their honeymoon.  I think they had a great time.  I think they are exhausted....but life is wonderful, so that makes it alright!

And We're Off!!!

Well, we are headed to Oregon today!  Samantha and Colt's reception is tomorrow!  It will be so nice to be in cooler weather!  They say it's actually going to hit 90 there tomorrow, which will be a walk in the park after the summer we have had here! 

It will be a little hectic tomorrow, trying to set up and decorate for the reception, buy all the food, etc. but we are looking forward to seeing friends and neighbors that we haven't seen for awhile!  That's the best part of the whole weekend!! 

And just because I know you are curious.....I'm giving you a sneak peak at a wedding picture from last weekend.  The photographer has more than 1000 pics that she is going through and editing, so it's going to be awhile until we actually get them but we needed a couple for decorating at the reception tomorrow so she sent over a few.  Here's one of my favorites!

Hopefully we will remember to take pics at the reception and have those to share next week!!

We Did It!!!

After months of planning and preparation, we did it.....she's married!!!  They are off on their Honeymoon, enjoying the life of Newlyweds!!

We left last Thursday and drove 16 hours.  That was brutal!  Just saying.  We met his wonderful family and many of their extended family.  Great people!  They are Idaho folks.  That's just the way they are in Idaho!

We loved the weather.  The kids shivered a bit in the cooler evenings.  We drove home on Sunday and it only took us 15 hours!  No traffic and no road construction.  Thank heavens!

Now we just have to get through this next weekend in Oregon.  But at least we are flying.  I am so excited to see old friends.  When you live someplace for almost 40 years, you get to know a few people.  People that almost seem like family.  Good times will be had for sure! 

We took a few pics (well, Vanessa took a few pics) from our weekend and I will post some pics soon.  I can't wait to see the ones from the photographer.  They will be fabulous!!

Old People

Isaiah and Jasmine attend preschool through the Parks and Rec in our cute little town.  Their classroom is in a big building where the Senior Citizens meet once a week.....on Wednesdays.  They are all usually arriving the same time we are and we get to walk into the building together.  They sign in and then meet in a big room for breakfast.  We turn and go around a corner, down another hall but I love being able to walk in with them!

I love old people!!!  They are the best!!  The men are usually quick witted and have something clever to say or their grumpy.  Either way....adorable.  I love all the colors of the women's hair!  So many colors that you wouldn't think you would see as a hair color!  And the smells.....old ladies smell sooo good.  They use yummy smelling lotions and their perfumes always remind me of my own grandmothers.

Someday when I'm old, I hope I'm as cool as they are!

It's Almost Time!!

Saturday, August 13, 2011, Samantha will marry her sweetheart in the Idaho Falls Temple for not only time, but for all eternity!  She is so excited!!  The invitations have been sent out, the cake has been ordered, the flowers are ready, the dress is steamed, the tuxes are waiting, the photograper is ready, the location is waiting to be decorated.....

It's going to be a busy week but you can be sure there will be lots of pics soon!

Fresh!!!

Ok, this is just a completely random picture of beautiful flowers because I didn't want to see that last post any longer.  Nothing new going on over here, still have tons to do and 100 degree fever to do it with!!  Totally zaps my energy....especially when Scott is traveling and I am running the show by myself!  Now I remember why I never want to be sick again!

Not Quite What I Had In Mind......

Being sick for the past few days certainly has it's advantages and disadvantages.....

Saturday as Sam and I were busy doing "wedding stuff", my throat felt a little icky.  By that night, I was ready for bed by 8!  I warned my family that unless I woke up feeling a ton better, they would be going to church without me the next day!

Needless to say, when I woke up, I felt 500 times worse than I did the day before!!!  Is that even possible???  I slept the entire day!  Is that even possible????  I even slept that night....after sleeping all day!   Yesterday I was in bed most of the day.  Today, I am bound and determined to get a few things done around the house that have been neglected...i.e. laundry, general upkeep of the house, etc.  But even then, I still have a pretty good fever that is knocking me on my bum if I'm up for more than a few minutes!

Yeah, only guess what?????  I don't actually have time for this!!  You see that little sidebar to the right where it says how many days until "the wedding"??  We have lots of work to do!  Not too mention, 9 other kiddos and a husband that need me back!

No one else in the family has been sick and so that is a blessing.  I'm trying to keep my germs to myself!  I have been under a great deal of stress lately.  So many things besides the normal every day task of caring for a large family.  So many things that I just keep tucked in my head so they won't bother anyone else. 

On the bright side, I have just about lost the 10 lbs. that I had been holding on to!  Yippee!  Just in time for the wedding!

Happy Birthday Miss Jazz!

How could it be possible that 3 years ago, our sweet teeny, tiny baby girl was born??  She acts so much older than she is.  All summer I had to keep reminding myself that she's only 2 when she would want to do things with the big kids.  She decided to potty train herself just before we moved last April!  Wowza!  I still can't believe we don't have anyone in diapers anymore?????  First time in 20 years!!! 

Jasmine has been a delight her whole life.  She does nothing but smile all day.  She is polite and remembers to say please and thank you.  It was so cute watching her open the cards from her older sisters today.  She opened each one, looked at the card for a minute and then looked to who had given it to her and thanked them.  Soooo sweet!

She does have a sassy little attitude at times but it usually only lasts a few minutes before she is ready to say sorry and give you a hug.
