Celebrating a few days late but still the "Birthday Girl"!

Last Wednesday was Sabrina's birthday. She had her favorite breakfast. She had her favorite lunch. That afternoon we left to get her a pedicure and a new outfit. She said she wasn't really feeling very good, kind of nauseous but we thought we would go ahead and see if maybe being out and about would help her feel better. As we walked into the salon, we were hit by that awful smell that accompanies all nail salons and we had to turn around and walk out before she threw up. We headed over to Kohl's and as we started in the main door, she stopped and said she thought we just better go on home.

That was a good call on her part. As we sat at a stop light, she opened her door and threw up. When the light turned green, she got her door shut just long enough for me to get around the corner and out of traffic before the door came open again and she lost it again. Needless to say, my driving like a maniac home after that probably didn't do much for her stomach but we got home before it happened again. The next 3 days were spent laying on her floor, with bowls surrounding her since she couldn't get up and get to the bathroom fast enough.

By Saturday night, she rejoined the land of the living and opened her gifts. Did we remember to break out the camera? Nope. We were just so thrilled she was smiling again and sitting upright that we all just sat there and watched her.

Sunday night she felt ready to eat again so we made her favorite dinner. She choose waffle cone bowls with ice cream, bananas and strawberries for her dessert. We did sing to her before she could eat so at least we got some "birthday" tradition in there. Whew.

What an amazing young women she is! As a toddler/preschooler, she always had a story to tell. As she has grown, she continues to be a great story teller. She loves to make people laugh and is witty with an amazing sense of humor.

She has compassion for those she has never met and she is quick to offer a kind word to someone who needs it. It has been a joy to be your mother, Sabrina. I look forward to an eternity of laughter and smiles with you!!!
