What an action packed weekend that was!!! Whew!! Scott had Thursday-Monday off and since he is not one to sit around, idly doing nothing, we had big plans.....for the yard. Thursday we just kind of hung around in the morning. He took Talisha to Subway for her birthday. They got subs for the 4 kiddos at the elementary school and went and ate lunch with them (Talisha's dream come true!) We came up with a plan to change a section of our backyard. It involved removing about 5000 lbs. of flagstone pathways, taking down the trellis (see the Random post for "before" pictures), moving bricks, tearing out bushes, etc. Thursday evening we celebrated Talisha's birthday.
Friday morning after all the kids were off to school, we got busy in the yard. Scott of course, was the muscle behind everything we did. I was just there to try and be useful when/where I could, while having a baby strapped to my back. We got a ton of things done that day, including watching Sam play in her PowderPuff game!!
Saturday we got a little further on our project and then that night, Scott and the boys went into Portland to watch Thomas sing the National Anthem with his school choir. He had a lot of fun and they had a great time watching the game!
Thank goodness for Sunday: A day of rest! After church in the morning, we just hung out and had a great time together. We had a great game of kickball in the backyard (boys vs. girls) and then enjoyed some amazing brownies, courtesy of Levi. After the younger 4 went to bed, we had a little campfire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores!!!
By the time Monday rolled around, we were ready to finish up our huge project. Scott started early and pretty soon, most of the family was out there helping finish up.
I will post the "after" pictures in a few days since we have a couple of finishing touches to do first. But it looks amazing!! And hey, we all got great tans out of the deal!!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend with family and friends!

Sounds like a great weekend Tari. I'm looking forward to seeing your new yard. Those smores looked delicious, too.
Chico and the boys worked on some stuff outside too, but I just now realized that I didn't take any photos of the process. Whoops.
Have a great day and enjoy this beautiful weather!
