Yipes!!!!

Savannah was saying her prayers tonight and I almost laughed right out loud in the middle of them!!!

"Please help me become a ballerina. And please bless me that I can trade bedrooms with Mommy."

What on earth???? The ballerina thing was funny. She only wants to be a ballerina because she saw one that was wearing a purple dress. And you know she has this thing with the color purple.

But my bedroom????? She wants my bedroom???? Fat chance little girl! Being the youngest growing up, I waited a looong time to have the biggest bedroom in the house!!! You can just put that little wish right up on the top shelf and leave it there!! Ha ha.........

While driving in the car today with 4 little kiddos, we were having a conversation about Jesus. Savannah was explaining that we can't see Jesus. Talli interjected with her point that "even though we can't see Jesus right now, he is going to come again and he wears BEAUTIFUL clothes!"

I love to just be the listener in their conversations. I always learn so much!! :)

Christmas 2009!!!!

Ok, I debated breaking this down into several different posts but I think maybe I will just do one really looooong one! The short story is: Slade and Sierra came to spend 15 days with us! We are loving having them here. We'll put them back on a plane tomorrow and then will be counting the days until summer when we beg their mom to let them come hang out with us again!

Two days before Christmas, we loaded all 14 of us in the big ol' white van and headed off to Utah. My siblings, their spouses and kiddos were all going to Grandma and Papa's house and it would be the first time in almost 8 years that we would be together. It was too good of a thing to pass up so we decided to join them!

The roads were perfectly clear and the weather couldn't have been better. We made it down there in 13 hours!

We stayed for 2 days and then loaded everyone up and drove home. We didn't have room for a lot of extra stuff so everyone got one backpack to put their clothes in. We took 2 portable cribs, 3 large Costco bags of food, one cooler and 2 GI-NORMOUS duffel bags with sleeping bags in them. Everyone took their winter coats and gloves. And that's about all the room we had!

"Christmas morning" after we got home from our trip! The kids were perfectly content to wait and have Christmas when we got home!

Scott took all the kiddos swimming one afternoon. Sabrina didn't feel like going, so she stayed home with me and we decided to redeem the girl's in their gingerbread house contest! Turned out pretty darn cute huh??

Scott's dad, Tom came and spent 3 days with us after we got home. I'm pretty sure he needed a vacation from his vacation when he got home! These kids wore him out!! We took him to Zoo lights with us, he danced and sang with a bunch of the little ones in the kitchen, he survived dinner time at our house.....he was a real trooper!!! Thanks for coming Papa!!

We decided after we got home that we were going to need some more cookies for our New Year's Eve party.....so the day before New Year's Eve, we had a cookie party! Looks like Levi is ready!!!

Round One Of Cookie Making!

Today we made sugar cookies!! Wow, what an event!!! We had a great time and many a sugar cookie was consumed in the process! We had 15 kiddos, gathered around the table and it was pure, organized chaos!!! Whatever that means......

By the time it was all said and done, they made around 70 cookies! We realized we started the project before lunch and ended after lunch time but we forgot to actually eat lunch. I can't imagine why, but no one was really hungry after that!!

They were working hard! Everyone's head was down and they were serious about this!

Flour on the cheeks??? Yeah, I have no idea either....

And For Me......

I have never asked Scott to bring me anything on his world travels. All I really ever want is for him to come home safely. He always finds cute things for the kiddos and they love to see what he brings. This time however, he brought me something. It is a beautiful shirt/jacket. I fell in love when I saw it! I don't think I have ever owned anything so nice.

I wore it yesterday to church and didn't want to take it off. It was so comfy. I guess silk is like that. Scott said he almost got me silk p.j.'s as well. I'm so glad he didn't. I would have never wanted to get out of bed!!!!

She sang some more and then Talisha broke in and insisted that she wasn't singing it correctly. "It goes like this: Frosting, the snowman was a jolly happy soul. With a corn cob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of gold!"
