If You Need Some Entertainment......

Tanner has started his own blog!!!  It should prove to be a very entertaining thing to read.  I'm debating how much involvement to have in editing spelling/grammer/etc.  I have decided he needs to be his own proof reader...so we will see how he does!

Amazing.......

It never ceases to amaze me what you can buy with money!  For years I have had short hair.  It was easier with little babies and as we all know, we have been loaded with babies around this place for, well as long as I can remember!  Way back when I had two little girls, I had looong, beautiful hair that took a lot of time.  Shortly after Levi joined our family, my hair got shorter.  I would grow it out a little, maybe to my shoulders and then I would cut it again to make life easier when a new baby came along.  It's been short ever since.

When you look at our Christmas picture from this past Christmas, you will see I had shoulder length hair.  That was fake!!!!  It was a cute little hair piece from Sally's Beauty Supply that matched my hair color at the moment and so I wore it a time or two.  But I have been in the 'I'm growing out my hair' stage for a long time now.

Finally Scott got tired of me complaining about how much I disliked my hair and he told me to do whatever I needed to, to help me feel good about myself again.  Did I mention what an amazing husband I have??  So last week, I met with a woman who puts in hair extensions.  It's real hair from Native Americans and it's beautiful!  She had to order the hair from Florida and so we made an appointment for yesterday. 

It took her just over 4 hours to color my hair (lots of gray to hide), chemically straighten my hair and then "install' the extensions!  Then she blended my hair with my new hair by layering it just a little.  The result?  I HAVE LONG HAIR!!!!!!!!

This morning one of our kiddos was annoying a sibling.  It was pretty harmless stuff but needless to say, the other child had had enough!  Finally I heard, "Mom, she is really annoying me.  Can I please hurt her?"

The funny thing was, he was completely serious.  I appreciated the fact that he asked instead of just pummelling her.  That shows self control, doesn't it?

Saturday, Sabrina and I needed a little retail therapy!  We headed into town and hit a few stores, including one that Scott is always telling me to go to: The Nordstrom Rack.  I found these, in my size and with a price I was willing to pay!  I have looked for red shoes for years and never found any that fit all of the criteria. 

I wore them to church on Sunday and didn't even break my ankle!!  Wa-Hoooo for red shoes!!

Ahhh, The Joys Of Motherhood

It never fails.  I sneak walk into the bathroom and within seconds of shutting the door, I am bombarded by children, who had no need of me only minutes before!  "Mom, are you about done?  I need to show you something!"  "Mom, 'T' won't let me play with him!"  "Mom, where are you?  I need you!"

Or I am joined by a small child, who gives me a blank look when I say, "Mommy will be out in just a minute, please wait for me outside the door."  That means leave!!!  Haha, someday I will be able to use the bathroom in peace.  And I know, I know, I will miss these days..........

Levi just got home from school and found an extra cheeseburger in the fridge that was from the little kids' earlier lunch from McDonald's.  He plopped down on the counter to eat it.  When he came to the pickle, he pulled it out and chucked it across the kitchen, hoping to land it in the sink!  When it fell just short of the sink, I looked at him like, "What was that about???"  "Oh Mom", he says, "I'm so sorry!  I thought pickles could fly!!!"

I laughed out loud at that one!  He was completely serious and couldn't believe that thing didn't make it all the way to the sink!  Funny boy.....

Sassy!

Boy oh boy, Miss Jasmine Belle!  For only being 2 1/2, you certainly know what you want!  Lately she has insisted on only wearing short sleeve shirts and her summer pajamas at night!  Well, if we lived somewhere else in the world where it was actually warm right now, that might be ok....but we don't and it's winter here!!

I finally had to hide all of her short sleeve shirts.  She would go and get Talisha's and Savannah's shirts.  I explained to her that she couldn't wear them because they were not hers (she understood that logic pretty well) however, then she went in Isaiah's room and started wearing his t'shirts!  Ugh!  I guess when you have 3 siblings that are all about the same size, it  makes it very easy to expand your wardrobe!!

Isaiah refuses to wear a coat when we go outside.  In my mind I think to myself, he's a child and can't possibly know how important it is to wear a coat so I will just make him wear it...right?  He seriously throws a fit about wearing it!  It's like I'm asking him to do something terrible!  We go outside without his coat and I say, "Oh boy it's cold out here!  Who wants a jacket?"  "Not me Mom!!  I'm ok!!" I go ahead and start putting it on him and he proceeds to fuss about not needing it, not liking it, etc.  I have even tried 3 other types of jackets, thinking maybe he just doesn't like the one.  Now mind you, this is from the boy that can't go out in the snow and play.  We learned that at an early age.  When his hands or face get cold, he starts screaming like he has just lost a limb!  It's happened 3 times in his life and that has been enough for us to learn that he just can't be out in the cold that long, even if he has mittens/gloves on.  He screams and screams and screams until his hands warm up!  It's not enjoyable!

If anyone has any great ideas, let me know!  I'm open to suggestions!!
