Engagement Pictures!!

Since the announcements have been sent out, it's finally time to post some of the engagement pictures!

The date is getting closer and closer!!!  They are finishing up finals this week and then they will be be done with school for this semester!  Whew!  Then we will have 3 weeks to finish up wedding preparations!

Adoption!!

It blows my mind when I see this:

Healthy biracial (1/2 Caucasian 1/4 AA 1/4 Asian) baby girl born 7/4/11, waiting for a family.

Really?? I know there are families out there that are waiting to adopt!  Many families are told the wait is really long to get an infant, especially a baby girl.  Guess what??  There is no wait!  I see posts like this all the time!!! 

This sweet little baby girl waits because of her race, but guess what???  She deserves a family.  If you or anyone you know is ready to adopt and has all their paperwork/home study done and is interested, send me a note and I will pass along the contact information!

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Thomas turned 10 today!!!  We celebrated his birthday yesterday with Nana and cousins from California, who are here visiting for a couple of weeks!  He was sooo excited for his birthday.....he's been dreaming about this day forever!!!!  His biggest hope was to be able to go see the new Cars 2 movie with his Dad.  And that's where he is right now as I type this!

He has grown up so much this past year.  He is such a joy.  We are so blessed to have him in our family!  Happy Birthday Thomas!

Soul Surfer!!!

I took all the kiddos plus 2, to the movie today!  We saw Soul Surfer! It was an awsome movie and we all loved it!  Some of us really took it to heart......

She has been like this ever since!  Poor kid, too bad we don't live near the ocean!  She might have been quite the surfer!

Ouch!

Well, when you get told over and over to put your toys away and you don't......this might be what happens!

Needless to say, we are still on the lookout for indestructible dog toys!  Nothing we have bought at the pet store has held up to her powerful jaws!!

Blustery!!!

I had the four youngest out in the pool tonight.  Tanner was out with me as well.  We could see a dust storm approaching in the distance but I didn't think it was coming as fast as it was.  Turns out I was wrong!  Tanner asked me a couple of times if I thought we should get the babies out of the pool.  I kept saying no, that I thought we had a couple of more minutes.  All of a sudden I looked again and started yanking litttle kids out of the water as fast as I could!!  They ran for cover and I ran to the door and yelled for Levi to get outside asap!!!  Within seconds we were in the middle of gale force winds, whipping through our backyard!  Our eyes were burning with dirt that was being blasted against us.  I could taste the dirt in my mouth and feel it covering my teeth.

With Levi and Tanner's help, we got the pool net on and ran around, grabbing all the towels, clothing, cushions, toys, etc to put in the bin so they wouldn't blow out of the yard!  The four little ones were huddled by the back door screaming.  It got almost so dark, we couldn't even see! 

Finally, we headed in the house and watched our pool become covered in a layer of dirt.  The poor filter will be exhausted after it finishes cleaning the pool tonight.  I suspect we will need to clean those filters tomorrow!

 Can you believe how dark it is??  Could not even see the neighbor's house!

Crazy wind storm!!  I love it when it does this!!!  So fun!!!
